What We Do

Our Mission

To support local food production, distribution and employment by serving as a fiscal sponsor for collaborative, innovative or community-based food projects that strengthen the local food economy in the Dubuque, Iowa market.

Growing, processing, and distributing food locally enhances overall economic resiliency by expanding and creating community-based jobs, promoting health through improved food access, and creating a resilient, sustainable, and equitable food system.

Our Values

A Living Wage

Many food-related businesses in the community struggle to achieve financial sustainability while also doing charitable, community-focused activities. We support projects that provide fair compensation for people who want to improve their community through food.

Collaboration

Food can be a vehicle for conversation and connection for anything from ecology and nutrition to arts and culture. We support multi-disciplinary, collaborative projects that leverage the unique benefits of food to bring people together for a purpose.

Community-Focus

Projects happening in a neighborhood should reflect its unique culture and respond to the needs of its residents. We support projects that build connections between the food grown in a community and the people who live there.
